FOOTBALL

SOUTH CANTERBURY Y. WAIRARAPA.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, last night,

The representative football match, South Canterbury v. Wairarapa, was played today. The ground was very heavy, and rain fell towards the last. Wairarapa had the best of the game, but had no luck in the first spell. E. Horgan potted a goal for South Canterbury, and Maguire scored a try for Wairarapa, Rogers converting. In the Becond spell Grant kicked a penalty goal for the visitors. Towards the last Wairarapa penned the visitors repeatodly on the line. A. Oadwallader got over, but the referee did not see the score before the player was pulled off the ball, and the visitors thus won by seven points to five.
