HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of parishioners of the Holy Trinity Church was held last evening, the Vicar, the liev. W. Welsh, presiding. The report and balance-sheet were of a most satisfactory nature. At the opening of the financial year the sum of £ll 5s 5d represented the total indebtedness of the parish. This had been wiped out, and the balanco-sheet submitted showed a pleas

iog result in the form of a balance of £56 3s 4d. The offertories and pew rents for the year were £476 14s 6d, as against £419 for the previous year. Tne report of the Sunday-school was alike satisfactory The number of names on the roll was 164, as against 133 last year. The average attendance had gone up from 85 to 114. On the motion of Captain Ferris, seconded by Mr Gaudin, the reports were adopted, reference being made by several members to the satisfactory nature of the same.

Captain Ferris was re-elected ministers’ warden aad Major Winter was re-ap-pointed parishioners’ warden. The following members were elected to the vestry : Messrs A. H. Wallis, C. P. Davies, G. Lyenar, A. G. Beere, H. A. King, W. Morgan, and F. T. Morgan. Mr L. T. Symes was re-elected auditor. On the motion of Mr Symes, seconded by Mr W. Morgan, a special vote of thanks was accorded to Major Winter for his services. Mr Symes pointed out that Major Winter had done better than any previous parishioners’ warden. He had been able io show a substantial credit balance.

In returning thanks Major Winter said that he was not entitled to the remarks made by Mr Symes. The success achieved was due to the efforts of the vestry as a whole, the' members of which he had worked most amicably with. The question of ladies having votes in okuroh matters was introduced by Mr Morgan, and warmly supported by that gentleman and others. A resolution was unanimously adopted approving of the principle, and the vicar was requested to forward a copy of the resolution to the Synod. The Chairman was also instructed to bring the matter before the Synod at its next sitting.

Votes of thanks to the Sunday School teachers, choir, and vestry were also passed. Eeplying on behalf of the school teachers the superintendent, Mr G. Lysnar, said that it had been hard work to bring the school up to its present state. Although the attendance was much larger than previously, there was still room for. much improvement, and he looked for the hearty co-operation and prayers of the parishioners. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
