The accrued interest amounts to 5a 4d, with underwritings and discount for advance payments. The not price has been reduced to about 93|-. CABLE FACILITIES. Received 11.22 p.m., July 24. Melbourne, July 24. In the House Sir E. Barton moved the ratificatian of the cable agreement between the Commonwealth and the Eastern Extension Company. He gave outlines of the matters which led up to the new agreement, which Viotoria and Queensland declined to become parties to. If the agreement were not ratifiod, the existing one would remain in lotce. Mr Knox moved an additional clause that on application every facility granted to the Eastern Extension Co. be also granted to the Pacific Board. Sir E. Burton said that, if it could be legally done, he would see that the Pacifio Board waß given the same facilities and advantages as the Eastern Co. Mr Kirwan moved an amendment to the ratification of the agreement, that the question be postponed until a conference with New Zealand and Canada has been held.
The debate was adjourned. SUGAR BOUNTY BILL. The Senate’s amendment to the Sugar Bounty Bill, with a proviso added that no bonus be paid on cano planted by blaok labor after February 23rd thiß year, was agreed to. SOLDIERS IN DISGUISE. London, July 23. The Standard's Tientsin correspondent says that soldiers, ostensibly immigrants, are pouring into Port Arthur. ENGLISH CRICKEt. Received 11.52 p.m., July 24, t Warner, interviewed, said that he would have been pleased to have gone under Maclaren if the Maryiebone Club hud appointed him captain, but since he himself hud been chosen he was bound to retain the post unless the Maryiebone Club wishes him to resign.
