LEWIS VARIETY COMPANY.
i OPENING IN THEATRE ROYAL TO-NIGHT. Theatre-goers are promised a treat this evening, when the wonderful Lewis Family give their initial performance in Gisborne. Wherever the company has appeared they have attracted large audiences, and a bumper house should greet them to-night. Professor Lewis is termed “ The King of Conjurors,” and the press of the colony refer to him as the best exponent of the art that has visited New Zealand. Miss Ivy Rickards is highly spoken of >n her serio-comic items, as also is Miss Yiolet Wilton, one of Australia’s best soprano balladists, who is under special engagement to appear in Gisborne. Miss Wilton arrived from Sydney yesterday, and will make her first appearance this evening. Miss Nora Kiley has everywhere caused much attraction with her funny Irishisms, which cause no end of laughter. Mr Sydney Gubb, the brilliant pianist, who has everywhere made a most favorable impression, should be well worth hearing in himself. The box-plan is open at Miller’s, and a bumper house should greet the company for their opening performance this evening. V ■■■■'■ ■ . -■=
