WONDERFUL LEWIS COMPANY.

THE KING OF CONJURORS.

The inhabitants of Gisborne and neighborhood wili shortly have an opportunity of witnessing and enjoying the entertainment of the celebrated Lewis Company, which makes its appearance at the Theatre Royal on Monday next. Professor Lewis himself is a brilliant expert in the art of conjuring,/'and it is not exceeding the truth to state that he keep? his audience spell-bound during his performances. The range of his skill, too, is marvellous. Hot less wonderful is the extraordinary power of Madame Lewis in the domain of the unknown world—for such it {really is—l from which all sorts of secrets, unknown to even the lady herself, are drawn while in a state of trance. Miss Bickards’ dancing and character sketches are quite delightful to admirers of the terpsichorean art, and Miss Hora Biley’s Irish characters are wonderfully taking, and are in the highest degree mirth-provoking. An additional feature is the engagement of Mr Sidney Gubb (of the London College of Music). Of this gentleman, we may safely assert that he is undoubtedly one of the most talented pianists in the colony, both as to brilliant execution and marvellous memory. Crowded audiences have been the invariable rule wherever the Lewis Company has appeared.
