DEATH OF AN OLD SOLDIER,
(Per Press Association.) ... BLENHEIM, last night Mr W. J. Baillie, a relative of Hon. Captain Baillie, M.L.C., found dead In his bed at Picton this morning. Deceased was a highly-' respected resident. He formerly, held a commission as lieutenant in the 51st Regiment,. and saw much active service in Burmah. .THE RAILWAY THEFT. CHRISTCHURCH, last night 3 Felton, Hiddlestone, and Flett, three railway shunters convicted on Friday of stealing goods at Christ church railway station, were sentenced this morning to four months’ imprisonment each. An application for probation was refused.
