[ There is little cow bloom in the speech of His Excellency the Governor. It has all been brushed away prematurely by the disclosures made by the Premier during his recent tours. The only novelty in it is an appeal to “ democratic principle.” We were under the delusion that the great Liberal party had dropped “ democratic principle" iu order to cherish “Imperialism.” We would like to know whether “ democratic principle” or “ Imperialism ” is to be the guiding star of the party. Let it take which it likes—but we fail to see how it can run both.—Wairarapa Times. The Government should start business as State farmers. Of course, the proposal has its objections, but when one considers the practical business advantages to be gained, and the number of extra inspectors it would give employment to, all such objections would vanish into Ihin air,-FeiMing Star.
