FEDERAL FIGHT.

EMPLOYERS’ FEDERATION RAI SING. BIG SUM.

HARDENING UP OF LABOR

PARTY

Bjs .Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright^ SYDNEY, July 11.

The Employers’ Federation makes no secret that it has -the intention of raisiiig a strong fighting fund in the various States for the forthcoming Federal elections, to fight the .ft'-ir/aiisjfc and Labor party. It is tnuy seated : “ The object of the duuiide fund is to assist- the present, political organisations in banding together in opposition to tne Socialist labor-party. We make it clear that, we have no objection to legitimere unions. Our object is purely to encourage the investment of capi tal, and consequently the employment of labor and the development of natural resources.”

In reply to the movement amongst employers, the labor unions have opened an active campaign. A city -meeting resolved that in view of the political attitude of the Employers Federation, its undisguised hostility to the Industrial Arbitration Act, ani other measures for the amelioration of the conditions of the workers. and the concerted action o£ So-called reformers with similar aims, the trades unionists organise fox the forthcoming Federal and State elections.
