HYLAND’S CIRCUS.
AN ATTRACTIVE SHOW.
A crowded house greeted Messrs Hylands’ circus last evening, and everyone present was charmed with the performance, the goneral opinion expressed being that it was by far the beat show of tho kind that has visited Gisborne. As on the opening evening, each item was received with the utmost enthusiasm. It is rare that such excellent horsemanship as that given by the Misses and Messrs Hylaud is seen here, and needless to say the daring feats accomplished were much appreciated by the audienco. The trick pony Sovereign won many new admirers last evening, all of whom freely admitted that his performance was tho cleverest that they had seen. Whethor at untying a knotted handkerchief or taking a hand at a game of euchre Sovereign was equally at home, and Mr Hyland has reason to feel proud of owning such a veritable champion. A feature of the performance last evening was the grand national steeplechase, which was run in good time and caused a great deal of excitement.
There will bo a matinee performance this afternoon, and the exhibition will be repeated in the evening.
