RUFFIANISM.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. Ernest Cross, who, in company with his wife and child, was walking along the i Franklin road last night, was attacked by two burly ruffians. One rushed at him, and the other 'attacking seized a handbag he carried. Mrs Cross screamed for assistance, and they fled without the ■bag, which they evidently believed contained Cross’ shop takings. Cross .was considerably knocked about, and bis wife sustained a severe shock,
