The Health Department took possession of the hotel on Saturday evening, and took all precautions, including the vaccination of all persons in the hotel. The place is now again open for business. The s.s Tokotnaru arrived from Hobart yesterday, and is in strict quarantine.

A passenger by the Monowai, which arrived here on Saturday, was quarantined this morning, lie was found to be affected with a rush, but it is not certain that it is smallpox. All the passengers by the same boat are being vaccinated. A large number of citizens aro presenting themselves for vaccination.

QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS IN SYDNEY.

Sydney, June 29. Passengers by the Oturah and Wanaka were quarantined on arrival. The Omrak was allowed to proceed to the wharf. Tho Wanaka will probably he released tomorrow. All the passengers by tho vessel must remain in quarantine for fourteen to twenty-one days, according to wkotker they aro vaccinated.
