By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Colonel Pitt was sworn in to-day as Attorney-General. As the building fund of the Wellington Education Board iB considerably overdrawn, the Board to-day adopted the simple plan of refusing to vote the money for apy of the works whioh .were requisitioned for. J. B. Tunbridge, retiring Police Commissioner, was this afternoon presented with an address end cheque for .£242 from the police force of the colony. The address is one' of the fine's! pieoes of work of the kind ever executed here. The presentation was made on behalf of the subscribers by the Minister of Justice, who eulogised Mr Tunbridge’s work in the public service since his arrival in the colouy. six years ago. He laid speoial emphasis on the .fairness with whioh tiie late Commissioner had dealt with all matters in his Department, and on the manner he had laboured to bring, the force to a high state of efficiency. News received here sthtes that the barquouliue Ada Eva is, breaking up. The survivors' were rescued iu an exhausted coudhtoo.
