Brigade Association waited upon the Premier for the purpose of gaining information With regard to the in-
tentions of Die Government concur.
ing fire brigades legislation for the coming session. The Premier stated tiiat so far as the Government was concerned there would be no alteration from what iiad been laid down in the previous Bill. Government thought fire brigades and .State fire insurance proposals might prejudice each other if Ihcy were included in the same measure, so had decided to make them separate. The Fire Brigades Bill would he on the lines of that which passed the Lower House about 1831. The Bill would probably be brought down in the first month of the session.
CIIRISTUIIURCI], last night. Malcolm Ross, aged forty-six years was found dead to-day in a hut in Colombo street by his mother, who last saw him alive on May 29. The body was much decomposed. Some years ago deceased hud been subject to tits.

The Arbitration Court finished ilie carpenters’ dispute to-day, and will give a decision in a few days. The Court sits 10-morrow to hear claim for compensation lor death by machinery by accident.
The weather is again extremely inclement-, and has spoiled all chances of success of the winter agricultural and nastoral show.
