ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES,

During May 1873 persons arrived in the colony and 2111 took their departure. The.figures for May, 1902, are 1701 and 2109 respectively. CAPPING CEREMONY.
The annual capping ceremony, or conferment of degrees on Victoria College students, took place to-day. The Premier was among the speakers, and indicated that the Government would endeavor to further assist tho College Council in erectDg University buildings.
