TWO INQUESTS.
FOUND DEAD. By Telegraph—Dress Association. Dunedin, last niglit. An inquest was held to day on the body of a man touud in an advanced state of decomposition in a creek oil Mount Cargill. Tito jury returned a verdict that a deceased person unknown was found dead, but there was not suiileient evtdonco to show how lie came by his death. Deceased is believed to have been about fill or -10 years of age, and his hands presented tho appearance of a man unaccustomed to manual labor. No one is known to be missing. A FATAL Sl'ItEE. Tho mau killed on tho railway at Waikouaiti Inis been identified as Win. .Egan, a native of Belgium, and a lishcruiau. He lmd been hawking fish about during the day, and meeting a countryman they had some drink. As ho was seen to fall approaching tho station ho was refused a ticket, and lie must iiuvo startf 1 to walk along tho line, and evidently laid down. Thu jury returned a verdict that ho mot his death while under tho influcnco of liquor by a truiu running over him, uo blame being attached to anyone.
