To-day S. L. P. Rimmer was charged with exhibiting offensive writing calcul atod to provoke « breach of- peace. Sergeant Hendry stated that tho placards eontainod highly offensive allegations regarding the Roman Catholic Church.

Defendant stated that ho had for years exhibited in his window papers ho con sidorod beneficial to the public against drink or anything he thought detrimental. Ho had said nothing against any special church, nor had ho special animus against any denomination. Rimmer was bound over to keep the peace for six months in his own recognisances of .£SO.
