Melbourne June 19,

Subsequently Sir E. Barton submitted a series of resolutions urging the adoption of the metric system with least possible delay within the Empire, that the most convenient method of obtaining it would be for the Imperial G
■overnment enacting compulsory use within Britain and for all other parts of the Empire whose legislatures approve of it. The resolutions were oirried.
