COLORED LABOR.
SEEKING TO FORCE IT ON AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, June 17. The Standard, commenting upon the text of Mr Chamberlain’s despatch of April 17th, dealing with the employment of white labor on mail steamers, says that after the defeat of the Labor party in the railway strike, Victoria’s prospect of a disorganised mail service should raise Australians to make an effort against class tyranny. Great Britain's duty is clearly to prevent injustice to one class of subjects at another’s dictation. Several other newspapers endorse Mr Chamberlain’s attitude in regard to the employment of Lascars.
