DENTAL HOARD

By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. The Dental Board held an examination of candidates who have completed tho prescribed course of apprenticeship. The following have gained certificates entitling them to practise: John Arthur and James M. France, Invercargill ; Harry Green,

Victor E. Hannan, Leslie S. Nancarrow and Harold li. Williams, Christchurch ; John Luck and William Stenbouse, Dunedin ; Ernest J. Tale, Gore.

At a meeting of creditors to-day of A. W. Pearson, who bad been trading with bankrupt William Linnoek, and was probably a partner, he failed to appear, and the Official Assignee stated that he would apply to the Judge for a warrant for Pearson’s apprehension. fcy the liov. Dr Gibb by St. John’s, Wellington, Dr Gibb, who was present, made a statement of the position us it appeared to him. After a number had referred to the great services rendered by Dr Gibb, and an expression of regret that there seemed to bo a likelihood of bis accepting the cull, a committee v/as appointed to draw up n minute expressing their feeling in the matter.

Major Henry Charles Morrison, who was retired at the end of last month from command of tho batteries and artillery in Otugo, died to-day, aged 62 years.. He saw a good deal of sorvico in Taranaki and Urewera districts. Deceased will be accorded a military funeral. Tho Arbitration Court was engaged today hearing eases of alleged breaches of awards. Two eases brought by the Timber Workers’ Union broke down, and costs were given against tho Union. In one case a huo of ill was imposod for tho dismissal of a man without giving a full week’s notice. Decision in other cases was reserved.

The parents of Charles Howitt, roferred to in a cable from Launceston, reside in Dunedin, He was only 19 yoars of age.
