As a result of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance, held at Dunedin, the secretary wrote to the Premier, asking him to receive a deputation of delegates from all parts of the colony on the Bth July, .so that they might submit to him proposals for certain urgent amendments in the licensing law. The Premier has replied that, .subject to any emergency not intervening, he will be pleased to meet the deputation on the date mentioned.
