WEDDING BELLS,

At HolV Trinity Church, Gisborne, yesterday afternoon Mr { Michael Wallis, son of Dr. P. M. Wallis. >f Bexhill, Sussex, England, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony 'o Miss Caroline Speuso, of Tolagu Bay. Ibo Rev. xt Williams conducted tbo ceremony. The bride, who was given awn - by her fathor, looked charming and win-onto in a dove "rey costumo trimmed with white silk and lace, and velvet hat trimmed with electric blue and lace to match, bincarried a prettily-arranged shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Amv Spence, who wore an electric blue costume with velvet hat; she also carried a pretty bouquet. Mr Norman Spence officiated as best man. Tho party ad iourned to tho Hotel Coronation, whore a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served, at which many congratulatory speeches were mado. Tho bridegroom’s present to tho bride was a beautiful diamond ring, and to tho bridesmaid a gold brooch. Among the guests present were Mr and Mrs Biddles, Mr and Mrs Cohn Fairlio, Miss Wallis, and Messrs W. P. Sinclair, 0 F» Piuß9c, Lissant Clayton, Eov. i-L Williams, and many others. Tho brido was the recipient of many handsome and valuable presents. The happy couple left for Tatapouri last evening. FOOTBALL.
