On the Irish Land Bill, in committee, Mr Redmond's amendment to abolish maximum limits ul rent reduction and exlending tho minimum whore the Bill restric!eii tho Commissioner, was rejected by 217 to 176. A lively debate took place on ttiis crucial question. Mr Redmond threatened that he would not consider tho Bill as fulfilling tho fiopos of setiimg the land question. It is rumored in the lobbies that if he persists the Bill will likely be dropped, inasmuch as it was offered on tho understanding that it would be accepted as a generous attempt to settle the difficulty. Eighty Liberals voted with the minority. The Times says that the result is a foregone conclusion.
