The Hospital Board to-day decided to buy an X-ray apparatus, offered at £75. The Board will hold a special meeting on Monday to ueeide whether the new wards now in hand shall or shall not be used for scarlet fever or other infectious diseases On that decision will depend what 'action is to be taken by a committee of the local bodies in the South Canterbury district. The surgeon is against the reception of cases of infections disease, and flie Board will probably agree with him.
