HUNTING.

The Poverty Bay Hunt Club’s moot l held at Kangatira last Saturday, proved a most enjoyanle outmg. The hounds throw off on Mr Wethered’s fine property, the Lome station, Mr id. Newman laying the drag to Daisy Bell. Mr J. M. Gouldsmith officiated as Master, and left nothing undone, Fencer jumping in great style. The popular Huntsman, Mr J. Malone, was well to the fore on Bailor. Miss Reynolds en Bundy was notable for her fine display of riding, and her sister on Haero also rode in hor usuui dashing style. These two young ladies laid the drag over Mr Pattullo’s fine property, where there aro some difficult lences to tace. The weather being perfect, the Master decided to leave the course in hopes of getting on to a hare, but being unauccesstul no resumed the usual course. Amongst those present were Mr and Mrs Patulto, Miss Boustield, Mr J. C. McLean, Mr Boustield on Colonel, A. Devery on Beven and Bix, J. Martyn oil a good chestnut, L. Newman on a brown, A. J. Devery on Greasy Jack, J. Devery on Long Frank, H. Redmond on splendid black, B. Ruru on a chestnut, a G. Devery on Lady, W. Perston on The Bpieler, Willie Devery on Come Along, Te Hau on a nice bay. Colonel, with A. Devery on him, laid the drag on Mr Hutchinson's station, jumping m great style. Mr P. Malone, in tandem, was present. Those present thoroughly enjoyed the outing, and had a good day’s sport, there being tew spills. The hounds went very fast, the latter part of the way reminding one ol a steeplechase race. The final mu ended opposite Te Karaka, where a great number mustered, and Host Allen was ready with a splendid spread, which was much appreciated.
