A mini her of tugs ventured out, and one got. a line aboard, while the lifeboat put the pilot aboard. The tow-line, however, snapped. When the tug went, out early in the day, it was expected that the Nonna would make an eliort to stand oIT ; hut, amid great excitement onshore, the vessel stood in towards the bar, presenting a magnificent spectacle as she raced forward under short canvas in the high, rolling seas. She began to make leeway towards Oyster flank. The anchors were let go. and the barque was brought up a few hundred yards off the not them breakwater. At. a late hour the tug was hanging on to the Norma.
