ROBBERY AND ASSAULT.
J3y Telegraph —Press Association. Dunedin, last night. The trial of Hamsay and Cairns for robbery and assault was not CO '.eluded to-day. Evidence was called tor tuo defence to ml-ovo an alibi, and the prosecution called rebutting evidence. Ramsay, in his evi_ deuce, alleged that a cardboard box found in his luggage had been p,aced by someone," presumably detectives. This liox contained material which evidently belonged to tiie bit found when Herbert, Havocs and Co., were robbed some years „‘ 0 ’ The gaol warder gave evidence that the box, or a similar one, was in Ramsay’s box, when he was in gaol. Tho enso will orobably conclude to morrow.
