Per Press Association., Dannevirke, last night. A number of dairy farms at Oringi were sold to-day at from £lO to £lB per acre. Stratford, last night. A man named W. G. OJpen has been lost in the bush since Sunday, Search parties are out. The Amikitea dredge gave 320 z for 190 hours.

Hokitika, last night. The Hon. Mr McGowan, Minister for Mines, arrived overiand from Christchurch this afternoon, and was interviewed by the Westland County Council in the evening. The Minister leaves for Grcymouth tomorrow.

Dunedin, last night. At a special meeting of the Rugby Union it was decided to appoint three selectors instead of one selector of teams, and Messrs G. Smith (secretary), A. Downes, and H. Harris were elected. WRECK OK A CUTTER. NEW PLYMOUTH, last, night.

The clew —Petersen, Krederieksen, and another—left Nelson on May 3-Stlt, amt tried 1o pass the Sugar Loaves on Saturday, but the. wind was unfavorable, and they anchored behind tho Sugar Loaves. The wind changed on Monday nighl, and a heavy sea arose. The boat nearly swamped, and eventually the anchor dragged, and the boat was driven ashore. 'The men got ashore on 'Tuesday morning saving their effects, hut the cutter broke up. The boat cost £llO, and was not insured.
