Christchurch, last night. There was a fair yarding and a good attendance of buyers at Addington market to-day.

Fat cattle : 230 wero yarded. Tho bulk were of good quality. In consequence of tho large supply tho sale was rather dragging. A feature was a liue of magnificent bullocks from Masterton, which sold at £l4 15s to £lB ss. Ordinary steers brought £6 7s Od to £lO, heifers £’s 17s 6d to £9, cows £5 to £C> 2a (id, beef 25s to 27s per 1001 b.

Fat sheep : There was a largo entry, which included a fair proportion of firstclass ewes and wethers. Butchers again competed largerly for best ewes, giving beyond the limits of export buyers. Prices for wethers were unchanged, but ewes were decidedly firmer. The range of prices was wethers, extra heavy 22s to 30s, best freezing 18s to 21s 9d, lighter 15s to 17s 6d, Merinos 10s 6d to 13s Od, ewes, extra heavy 22s to 28s, 'best butchers’ 16s 6d to 19s, lighter 12s to 16s, Merinos 6s 7d to 8s od.

Fat iambs : There was an entry of 2000, which contained a fair proportion of firstclass quality. Export buyers competed keener, and last week’s values wore maintained. Tegs brought 15s 3d to 17s Bd, freezers 12s 6d to 10s, butchers 11s to 14s Bd.

Pigs : There was a large entry, and tho quality was good, but eurers having reduced limits the sale was dragging. Baconers brought 45s to 695, equal to 4J,d per lb ; porkers, 30s to 40s, equal to 4:jd to 5d ; stores X3s to 265, weaners 7s 6d to 12s.
