GISBORNE POULTRY FANCIERS’ CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Gisborne Poultry Fanciers' Club was held last evening at Mr H. M. Porter’s office, there being a largo and representative attendance. Mr H. M. Porter presided, and gave a short statement of the position of the club. Owing to tho wet weather, the attendance at the last show was not so large as hitherto, and the financial result suffered in consequence. There were liabilities outstanding amounting to about £lB, but it was hoped that the next show would again bring the club into credit. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows : Patron, Mr E. Murphy. The question of the appointment of a secretary in place of Mr W. Ranger, who had left the district, was considered at some length, and it was finally agreed to ask Mr R. McDuff Birrell to accept tire position. The Chairman notified that the championships allotted by the Association to Gisborne this year were the buff Orpingtons and game bantams. It was decided to hold a two day’s show, but the date was left to the committee to decide upon. Several suggestions were made by members as to how the financial position of the Club might be improved. It was decided to make a vigorous canvass for new members, and to take advantage of every facility which would increase the popularity of the Club. On the motion of Mr W. Fraser, seconded by Mr Lysnar, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Ranger for his services as secretary. Members made praiseworthy reference to the good work done by Mr Ranger during the four years he filled the office of secretary. A vote of thanks was also passed to the outgoing officers,
