ISOLATION WARD

The landing of small-pox cases in Hie Mouth should again serve as a reminder of (he necessity of some provision being made in Gisborne for the isolation of eases of infectious diseases and other complaints that will not be accepted into the Hospital. There is no need, as the Government authorities point, out, fora scare over the small-pox eases, and certainly there is not, much reason to fear that Gisborne will suffer from the neglect in the South. But it, is an appropriate time to again give attention to the need of accommodation for cases not acceptable in the ordinary Hospital. When anything of I lie kind now occurs there is no public place lo which patients may lie taken, and sufferers are liable to he pul to sore straits to obtain accommodation. II is the duty of the local bodies lo make some effort in this matter, for if is no credit to the town to he as badly off in that respect as it is at present.
