DIVORCE CASES.
(JPer Press Association.) "Wellington, last night. At the sitting in divorce to day sir ■Justice Edwards had before him the suit of Solomon Heckman, turf commissioner, also known as Solomon Lewis, for dissolution of his marriage with Deris Heckman, on the grounds of desertion and adultery with John Usher and other p.irons unknown. Tbe parties were married at Palmerston North in 1900, and subscjuentlv lived in Wellington and Sydney. I Petitioner alleged that his wile was addicted to drink, and had visited houses of questionable repute. He admitted having struck her twice, but denies having stabbed her, or having turned her out of a house without clothes on. The jury found that the respondent, who did nob [ appear, had been guilty of adultery, butreturned a negative answer to the question which involved Usher. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. A decree nisi was also granted in the suit Elizabeth Highiey versus George Highlev, wife’s petition, for a dissolution of marriage on the grounds of desertion.
