The Tramway Board definitely decided to-day to take a poll on the proposal to borrow X'250,000 to purchase, extend, alter, renew, repair, and equip the tramways existing in the district, and introduce such system of traction, including tho use of eloetricity, as tho Board may think fit. Tho Town Clerk reported that the City Council would collect o-tidods of a penny rate on tho conditions suggested. Tho Arbitration Court will sit in Christchurch on Wednesday to tako the ease of tlio Ca, lerbury Flour Millers Employees Union vorsus employers. At tho Supreme Court Thomas Smalo was found guilty of obtaining X4O 17s 6d on March SOtb, and X‘l7 12s Sd on April 14th, at Christchurch, by representing certain quantities of resin and purallin to bo beeswax. His Honor deferred sentence. Counsel for dnfoneo stated that accused, who had alleged he got the imitation wax in Auckland, had been deceived as much as his buyers.
