METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE
At tho Metropolitan Committee of tho Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club, L. F. Williams, Gisborne, asked to bo allowed to change tho namo of tho horso Jacob to Tilirangi.—Agreed to on payment of the necessary foes. Tho secretary of the Racing Conference asked that a list of all clubs’ racing dates bo submitted to tho Metropolitan Committee beforo June Ist. —Clubs to bo notified. W. G. Bauer, Waipawa, who had been granted a jockey's license, applied for a refund of application foe, as he did not require tho license. —Refused. A. Tuckwcll, Waipiro Bay, wrote asking for direction as to the recovery of stakes won by his horse at Tokomaru, paid o\cr to an unauthorised person.—Not within tho jurisdiction of tho metropolitan body. It was resolved to take out five Hospital tickets, as previously. # The Woodvillo Jockey Club is to bo notified that they have no power to remit lines imposed on jockeys for wearing
wrong colors. C-. Stiff, Gisborne, was voted £& from tho Trainers’ Benevolent Fund, and tho doctor’s account of JOS Ss was authorised to bo paid. , . The application for the registration ot the Te Karaka Racing Club was deferred, pending further inquiries, The appeal case, D. Hc-pburn and J. M -.lone v. F. Rhodes, Gisborne, was dismissed. This was an appeal that the respondent, who was alleged to be a doi i',\ u ';tcr at the time of nomination for the | last Gisborne Racing Club's meeting. 1 5 h,,.;. : not be paid tho stakes won by his I, OIVPS at that meeting, and that the money should be paid over to the appellants,' who owned tho second horses in two races won by the respondent. The following licenses were granted : I Toekey, A. Petersen ; gentlemen riders, Mr F.‘ C. Logic and Mr W. H. Small, jun.
