'AL the Supreme Court to-day. Mary Ami Mills, who was charged at the. Supreme Court sittings in conjunction with T. K. Moore w tii the murder of Lottie Anccll, was charged with perjury in connection with that ease. She was found guilty, and remanded for sentence. A nolle piosequi was entered in connection with the charge, against the prisoner of having been accessory after the fact to the manslaughter of Lottie Ancc'l.
Kuekaka le Ro, on two counts of attempting to carnally know a Maori girl under Hi years of age, and with assault with intent, was found guilty on the second count, and remanded fur sentence.;

At tho Supreme Court to-day Bernard McKcruan was convicted of wilfully setting |]ro to articles in tho houso of his wife, from whom ho was separated, and was sontonced to six months’ imprisonment. Michael O’Malloy, William Murray, and Joseph Coates were convicted. They assaulted a man named Guinness, and robbed him of a purse and £2. In tins enso two detectives caught O'Malley and Murray in the act of garotting Guinness, Coates running away. The jury, with whom His Honor agreed, expressed approval of tho prompt action of Detectives Herbert and Ward. His Honor said that 0 Many, against whom thevo were previous convictions, clearly belonged to ono of tho most dangerous classes in the community, and was a continued criminal. Ln a properly organised state of society he would bo considered as a man who had adopted a criminal career and put under restraint for tho rest of Ins life. HU sentence would bo four years’ imprisonment. Murrays ease was not so had, but it was bad enough, and ho would bn sentenced to jhrco° years’ imprisonment. Against Coates 'little was known, hut his familiarity with processes of crime was against him. He would bo sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment. Ilarry Bamford and A. G. Driscoll were found not guilty of assault and robbery at Lyttelton.
