DIX’S GAIETY COMPANY.

THEATRE ROYAL, TO-NIGHT.

This company, which opens at the Theatre Royal to-night, is neaded by Arnoldi, the juggler and balancer, from the principal London music halls, who created such a sensation a year ago by suceessfuliv rivalling Cmquevalh in his great billiard ball act. Many had tried to imitate the latter in bis marvellous performance, but none reached that acme of perfection in manipulating the ivory balls until Arnoldi loomed upon the theatrical horizon. He at once showed his prowess by deftly performing nearly every one of Cmquevalh s ac t Sl and he now holds the proud position’of being one of the finest jugglers and palinicrs in the world. Associated with Arnoldi is a company of vaudeville artists, such as it is seldom the lot of Gisbornites to see. Foremost amongst the members are the Gallardie Sisters, song and dance artists, who made a distinct hit under Mr Rickards’ management in Australia ; Miss Ida Rosslyn, a burlesque artist of talent, who was principal boy in last year’s pantomine. Miss Emmie Smith is a soprano of great promise, and Mr Charles Howard uses his fine baritone voice to some purpose. John Cearns is one of the best known knockabout comedians in Australasia, and his daughter Vera inherits hi 3 taient in a marked degree. The Sherwins are clever sketch artists of high repute. One marked feature of this company is that there is ncthiog to take exception to from the rise to the fall of the curtain, and each “turn ” is a distinct novelty.

The box-plau at Miller’s Corner is rapidly filling.
