SHOW GROUNDS.

(To Liu; Editor Gisborne Times.) .Sir,—As a member td the A. mid I’. Association, ido not think it. would he wise to accept, the offer of grounds at the llapara in preictence to the Park. In the first place, the approaches would he. objectionable. The country people would have to travel round via Lyfton road, which is so much further than the Park, while the latter has (he great advantage of two outlets. If the Association considers it advisable to purchase, they should go further into the country, and purchase (irst-class land adjacent to the railway line and to tlic arterial roads. A few mites would make little or no difference to the townspeople, now that the railwar trains are running, hut would make a great difference to count,rv people. 1 venture to say that at, the price offered land of the fittest quality could be obtained in a central place tapped by flic railway line ami close to the liircc trunk roads, 'the run on I would he more enjoyable to fcwnspeople, and the advantage of obtaining land of the best quality will be apparent to anyone. The grazing will give a good revenue, and the land will be a splendid advertisement in the case of (lie many outside visitors who come 1o the .Show but have not the time to spare to drive round and get an idea of the fertility of the district.
