FATAL ACCIDENTS
A LIFE A WEEK IN WAIHI MINE. Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Wuihi, Saturday. Two men, W. Cornthwaito and Parry, engaged in No. 5 shaft, Waihi mine, fell sonio distance. Parry was killed outright, and Cornthwaito received terrible outs on the head and other injuries. He is not expected to recover. The accident occurred at midnight. Both are well known and highly respected.
Auckland, Saturday. If tho Waihi mine fatality results in tho death of Cornthwaito as woll as Parry, it will make a total of fivo miners killed in tho Waihi mine during tho last fivo weeks, in addition to one man who lost his life in tho Talisman mine. T'hero hns been an extraordinary run of mining accidents recently, resulting in a very largo total of claims upon tho Accident Insurance Society. Marfcon, Saturday. Harry Henderson, a well-known flourmiller, was killed at 1.80 to-day by a kick on tho head from a horse. Dunedin, Saturday. John Munro, farmer, of Toiro, near Balelutha, has died from injuries sustained through being caught in a reaper and binder.
