SALE OF BLOOD STOCK.

Fer Press Association. Palmerston North, last night.

The second annual blood stock sale, on account of the Hon. J. D. Ormond, W. J. Douglas, and G. P. Donnelly, was held today. There was a particularly largo attendance ot prominent breeders, owners, and trainers, and the bidding was spirited for anything out of the ordinary. Seventyone thoroughbreds wero catalogued, principally by The Officer, the Possible, Douglas, Catcsby, and Wehikorc. Yearlings sold on account of Mr Donnelly realised 15gs to 46gs, the latter price being paid by Captain Campbell for a gelding by Douglas—liaramea. On account of W. J. Douglas, a two-year filly, by Torpedo —Primrose, was sold to D. Fraser for 80 gs ; filly by The Officer—Taihoa, W. Davis, 59gs ; bay gelding by The Possible —Hinetepo, Dr. Newman, 64gs. Hon. Mr Ormond’s yearlings are selling at present at an average of 13gs.
