At the half-yearly meeting of Colonial Sugar Company tho report showed the profits to be £'100,291. A dividend of 10 pec cent, was declared, absorbing £IOO,OOO. The drought adversely affected the cane. Both in Australia and Fiji good crops are not expected. The only satisfactory result of the drought was the proof that the cane suffered less in dry weather than any other crop.
