RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
STRAY HORSE DERAILS ENGINE AND WAGGONS. ' ■ A FIREMAN KILLED. (Per Press Association.) Masterton, last night. A goods train of twenty waggons, leaving Mastorton at 8.35 on Saturday ovenmg, ran into a horse at the cemetery crossing near Foathorston. Tho engine and six waggons wero derailed. Tho "Wostinghouso brake brought the train to a standstill. Driver Heard was stunned, and badly y shaken. Fireman Harry Fee was pinned under tho cab. Tho gaugo glass burst, and ho was seriously scalded by escaping steam. Both men wore brought to Masterton by special train about 3 o'clock this morning. Foe, who is unmarried, was brought to Masterton hospital, whore ho died at 11 o’clock to day. Heard is confined to bed, but is no seriously hurt. Guurd Towers was uninjured. The line was cloared to day.
