Rumour is also busy with names of Hawke’s Bay and Auckland residents as prospective Councillors. Iu any case the jNoitii Island can with justice claim strong representation in future appointments. The Opposition patty say tbo Legislative Council is already entirely subordinate to the will of the Ministry nowin powc-r, and no necessity therefore c-xists for the latter adding to the membership of the Upper Chamber.—Star.
