A girl, two years old, named Nolan, died to-day from shock. Her clothing ignited through coming into contact with a washhouse lire. She was terribly burned about tho body before tho flames were extinguished. Captain Hurst, of the barque Castle Holm, who is suffering front pneumonia and shock, the result of a boat capsizing in the harbor on Monday, is still in tlio hospital, and the vessel will bo taken to London by Mr Dix, chief officer of the ship Invercargill.

Grey-mouth, last night. A young man named Edward Geobegan, aged 19 years, was drowned oil the Hobson ureugc eariv this morning. The body bar. not yet been recovered.
