Dunedin, last night. At a meeting of subscribers to the Otago Patriotic Fund to-night it was resolved to give T 250 to the veterans’ home scheme. T2OO to the fallen soldiers’ memorial, and £SO to Mrs Seddon's fallen soldiers’ graves’ fund. This leaves about TSOO in hand for requirements. At a meeting of the Executive of the Scottish Societies of Dunedin, it was resolved that immediate steps be taken to assist in raising a fund for the purpose of erecting a national monument to General Sir Hector Macdonald, but it was not deemed necessary to take steps at present in the direction cf vindicating the General's character, that matter being in the hands of those in a better position to undertake the work,
