TO 'I Ii 10 KLKCTOKS OK Tl-110 BOROUGH OF GISBORNi:. r ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— JLI In Ei't-cici'g your support at the forthcoming Election, I submit for your approval the following .-—First in importance is water and drainage. I favor Waibiroro and Mr Mostayer’s scheme. With regard to bridges, rather than tamper with or widen the Taruheru bridge (which will require redccking in a few years), I mn in favor of the erection of a bridge at the upper end of the town. In dealoig with the question of road metal, I think a great saving could he effected by not on’ly using river metal for side streets, but by tarring main streets one block at a time, as funds will permit. This has proved successful in other towns where metal is less costly. As to the better lighting of the Borough, I think the best and most economical way would bo for the Council to purchase the ’ present Gaswo-ks at a-re-munerative price. I will favor amalgamation with the suburbs, if shown to be for the general welfare, thereby securing increased representation in Parliament. Those are, I think, the most important questions cf the present time, and if you do me the honor to elect me as one of your representatives, I will use my utmost endeavors to promote the welfare of the Borough as a whole. Your obedient servant, T. MORRISON.
