A Royal Commission has been set up with Balfour of Burleigh as chairman, illeluding tho l’rinec of Wales, Vice-Admiral Noel, and prominent mouthers of botli sides of the House of Lords, and House of Commons, Proiessor Holland, of Oxford, representatives of the Board Trade, Home Office, lilym. Mills, Currie, Lloyds, and Liverpool Corn Trade Association to enquire into the conditions affecting the importation of iood and raw material in wartime, and the amount reserved of such supplies for a given period, and whether it is desired lo adopt measures besides tho maintenance of a strong ffcot, whereby supplies can be hotter secured aud violent fluctuations of prices avoided.
