PROHIBITION.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. A largo number of temperance workers met the Lev. JA W. Isitt in conference at the invitation of the Prohibition League. A resolution was passed urging the New Zealand Alliance to endeavor to secure a Pill to prevent a repetition of the Newtown and Bruce fiascos, and secure to the people the carrying out of their wishes as expressed by the ballot-cox ; to place the King Country in the same position as Clutha as regards an effective prohibitory law in harmony with the recommendations of the Police Commission.
