MELBOURNE, April Hi. 'Pile Railway Employ Drivers and Firemen’s Association and the dailypaid railway employees have sent, replies to the Commissioner definitely refusing to obey his ultimatum to dissociate themselves from the Trades Hall. 'Phe Amalgamated Society of Railway Employes’ ballot is expected to result similarly. 'Phe Cabinet deals with the situation on the return of the Premier Bom Sydney at Hie end of the week.
(A short time ago the Government oi Victoria issued an ultimatum insisting on those connecied with the Railway Deparlmont withdrawing allegiance from (he Trades Hall, and, ■tiler taking lime for mature consideration, the men now defy the Government to endeavor to use compulsion.. A big struggle is anticipated.)
