The Daily News absurdly declares that there is a feeling in Edinburgh that the Crofter soldier (General Macdonald) had been hunted down by a big, systematic society attack, and that in the “ Grand National Ambush ” he fell at the lasi, fence, when badly “ winded.”- The King witnessed the race.

There is a wild outcry in Scotland against the. interment of the remains of the late General Macdonald in France.
The Clan Macdonald and several Highland Societies have summoned meetings. Gentlemen at Dundee have guaranteed the funeral expenses, while others arc willing to do so also, It is.probable <hat his body will be" interred in the Black Isle, Rossshire.
„.A number of beautiful wreaths have been sent by. unknown donors to Paris’.
Many ladies prayed beside the col fin.
