Sydney, March 25. In tho courso of a speech, Mr Waddell, Treasurer, complained of the hostility of tho press towards the Government, especially at a time like the present, when the Government is confronted with tho gravest difficulties and tho shadow of a dark calamity hung over the country, a position which an act of Providence, in tho state of the British money market, had placed them in.' Ho thought the press and Opposition should do all that was possible to avoid ombarrassing them.
