THE NEW KINGDOM.

(To the Editor of the Timks). Sir,—Some time ago I published a pamphlet, in which I briefly stated, under the heading of “The New Kingdom Society,” that I hoped at some future time to publish another pamphlet, entitled “ How the New Kingdom Society could purchase the world.” So far I have been unable to do this, but as I am already beginning to receive enquiries from persons interested in the New Religion, as to ho.v the women and children could be provided for under any other system of marriage than the existing one, I think it is high time that I made public the scheme hinted at in the pamphlet referred to. So if you will do mo the honor of publishing the following outlino of the scheme I have propounded in the columns of your valuable paper I shall bo greatly obliged. My proposition briefly stated is this. I propose to forma society, all the members of which agree to leavo their property, or a specific portion of it, at their death to this society for the benefit of its members , for all time. And all property so acquired 1 shall never bo resold or the principal spent in any way, but henceforth shall be the property of the society, to be leased to its membors and all rents so obtained, less | working expenses shall be equitably utilised in granting annuities to the mothers of children born in accordance with the New Religion, and in other ways, such as giving young men a start in life, in old age pensions, and in providing a fund to maintain persons disabled by accident or disease I from earning a living. This is the first principal of my scheme, but to make the I proposition workable it will bo necessary to organise a socioty which will be in a position to canvass for members upon definito lines. I propose then to organise a great tontine with an unlimited number of members, who will join the tontino in the same way as they now join an insurance tontine, paying so much per annum for a stated number of years, and as fast as funds accumulate these will be lent to members in much the same way as the Co-operativo Building Society .provides funds for its members. The main difference being that all property so acquired will revert to the society upon tho death of tho occupier and be released to some other member. There will be a number of tables and people can please themselves which they join, and members will he &hie to take out policies for £2,000 if they wish. In this society there will he no lapses, anyone who has paid even one instalment will be entitled to reinstatement even after the lapse of years by paying arrears with interest. There will also be a children’s investment fund, from one penny per week upwards. There will be no necessity for anyone to die before members will be able to reap a beneht from membership. I have worked out all tho details of this scheme, but it would take up too much of your valuable spuce to deal with details now, but if any of your readers feel sufficient interest in the matter to promise assistance in forming ft society such as I have outlined, I will he pleased to deal with the matter at greater length. Thanking you in anticipation.— I am, etc.,

C, P. W. Longdill,
